Jim's Favorite Websites We Endorse and Admire

We have a theory about swapped hot buttons on websites – where two sites agree to swap clickable “buttons,” so that we have your site on our pages, and you have ours on yours: they get lost in the clutter of a site and don’t necessarily generate that much traffic.

Our site, for example, has thousands of pages; where do we put “hot buttons” to indicate our praise, fondness, or relationship, with another site?

Instead of lumping a whole bunch of hot buttons together on an unheralded page, we thought it would show editorial integrity on our part to have a short bio about each site we admire, or about the personalities behind the sites that we admire and suggest you visit.
So here goes… check back often because we will be expanding and changing this list over time.

Amy Reiley is a 2000-volt, 20-something, passionate food and wine stick-figure-thin foodie and I am still trying to figure out – where ever does she pack all that food and wine that she discovers as she roams the world? She must burn it off with the intense energy she brings to her chosen path – to find and celebrate the best of life. Kind of what we do at ilovenapa.com on a much smaller scale (we celebrate the Best of our little valley – hopefully with the same, burning intensity.)

Head for Amy’s site, sign up for her monthly e-newsletter, check out her recipes, food discoveries and beverage preferences actuelles.

Michael Tchong is a 30-something, energetic (make that over-energetic) observer of Trends with a capital T.

What do the Canon G3 Digicam, Agent Provacateur lingerie and Poko Pano bikinis from Brazil have in common? They’re all on Michael’s Trendsetters of the Year list for being tops in their respective field.

I love receiving Michael’s weekly emails, which bring into my life fringe products, or edgy trends, that the Indonesian-born trend-watcher has found around the world. Lots of fun.

Based in San Francisco, Michael is an Internet entrepreneur; he has launched five start-ups, including MacWEEK (acquired by Ziff-Davis), CyberAtlas (acquired by Mecklermedia), and Jupitermedia. He has held media positions at Chiat/Day, Doyle Dane & Bernbach and McCann-Erickson. ‘Nuf said?
