The best pasta dish in the North Valley is tied with one in the South Valley.
We LOVE the "sugo di coniglio con pappardelle," a rich braised rabbit ragu, tossed with hedgehog, or wild, mushrooms, served with wide ribbon pasta at Tra Vigne in St. Helena. But no less alluring is the trenne entree, a triangular penne, at Bistro Don Giovanni, served with braised lamb, artichokes and olives.
There are nights after fish, after steaks, after ahi tuna burgers, that just cry out for a hearty plate of perfect pasta. These are them! Both restaurants also have exceptional wine lists so your wine pairing experience will be as memorable as your pasta. 96 points
