In an era of huge, noisy, multiplex cinemas, it's a thrill to visit an intimate, 144-seat, cozy cinema like this — which has been on Main Street 88 years. It was completely refurbed six years ago and locals know the best seats are the 16 romantic love seats in the last two rows, each built for two. The plush velour seats are Cabernet-colored as you might expect since owner Charlotte Wagner is wife of Chuck Wagner, owner of Caymus Vineyards. (In the Valley, everyone's connected to the wine biz — One Degree of Separation.) The Cameo shows independent, foreign, first- and second-run films for seven days, with two shows nightly and matinees Wednesdays and weekends, too. The difficulty is never eating well in the Valley, because there are numerous great restaurants; the difficulty is staying awake in the cinema after you've eaten so well.
