For five years, we have been enjoying the fish sandwich here, a rotating lunch item of fresh, grilled ahi tuna, mahi-mahi, salmon or lemon snapper, served on a just-crusty-enough bun that is brushed with a tasty remoulade sauce, topped with fresh leafy greens and tomato. Yum. The sandwich is served with a mound of tarragon fries that are addictive. Wusses can opt to substitute a mixed-greens salad for the fries.
There are times we'll make a significant detour for this sandwich; we love the flavors, the fact that it is prepared consistently, and we love the serenity of the room.
We recommend a cold, thirst-quenching beer to complement the daily-catch sandwich, but Celadon also makes a non-alcoholic, unsweetened, unperfumed, iced, black tea that is worth ordering. For dessert, Chef/owner Greg Cole makes a compelling crème brûlée that sports a skin of crunchy, caramelized banana. Worth the calories.
Best seats in the house are at the bar, where the locals hang out.
